Australia Day with Lane 4 Aquatics Proserpine

Date: 31 January 2014

Celebrating Australia day in Style!

Lane 4 Aquatics Proserpine was out in force for the Australia Day weekend, putting on a weekend of family fun and entertainment. Saturday the 25th January was the warm up to the official Australia Day Party to be held on Sunday 26th January.

The party kicked off with the giant pool inflatable causing havoc for many of the party goers, proving it is not as easy as it looks. Once the sun started to set, a furious and competitive bomb diving competitions lit up the lanes, with Mack, taking out the top prize. After the waves settled, it was time for a "Movie under the Stars". Around 70 people enjoyed a movie on the big screen whilst lazing around in the pool, or getting warm in the grandsatnd. The smell of popcorn could be smelt from streets over, and all in all it was a great family fun night!

Sunday 26th January was supposed to be the big Australia Day Party, however, with the incoming Cyclone starting to make its presence felt, the Sunday event had to be cancelled. Whilst this was dissapointing for the Lane 4 Aquatics staff, the Saturday night pool party made the entire weekend a success.

"It was great to see so many local residents supporting this event" Managing Director Daniel Mulvey said. "With this type of support, Proserpine can expect to see a lot more of this type of event" he said.

"Proserpine doesnt have a lot for the community youth to do, and we were extremely excited to offer this event to the community" commented Michelle Brock, Lane 4 Aquatics Proserpine Venue Manager. "We will definately be having another movie under the stars before the end of the summer season" she said.
