Lane 4 Lifeguards

Date: 1 September 2014

Lifeguards play a key role in ensuring a safe environment for swimmers at all Lane 4 Aquatics operated pools and aquatic Centre’s.

The routine role of a lifeguard is to monitor activity in the water and on the site as a whole. Our lifeguards have whistles to alert our patrons, in worst cases lifeguards can alert co-workers and emergency rescue when someone is serious injured or goes under water. If you hear our staff whistle onsite please take a moment to acknowledge and act accordingly.

One Whistle                = Attention to all swimmers

Three Whistles            = Evacuate the Water

Along with protecting the safety of swimmers, lifeguards can also play an active role in educating people on pool and water safety. Many of our Lane 4 Aquatics Lifeguards also teach swimming lessons and have natural instructional instincts. Instructing children on the safety rules of the pool is a common need for lifeguards. Rather than immediately removing a child from the pool, the lifeguard can explain the rules and help him/ her understand the reasoning behind safety measures.

For one weekend the Rockhampton Lane 4 Aquatics Lifeguard Team trained together, to be prepared in the event that we may need to react to an emergency. Rescue procedures, CPR & AED training as well as suspected spinal injury procedures were all covered to help serve all our customers and patrons to the best of our ability.

We are looking forward to the season ahead. Take a few moments to get to know our Lane 4 Aquatics Lifeguards when you visit us at any aquatic Centre, introduce yourself and say hi.

This season Lane 4 Aquatics will be proudly operating aquatic facilities throught Queensland and New South Wales.
